MATCHDAY PUMA’S FC

Our aim:

The aim of the MatchDay Puma’s FC, is to provide players exclusive access to a great training facility, knowledge of excellent innovative coaching from highly qualified coaches (UEFA A/B), a games programme, a challenging syllabus to aid development in the social, physical, technical and psychological corners, along with individual player mentoring.
We offer a unique selling point (USP) where top-level players will have the opportunity to showcase their skills to multiple professional clubs. This exposure increases their chances of securing a trial and ultimately signing a contract with a professional club.
  • Training sessions held every week:
    • U9-11: Thursdays from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm
    • U6-7: Fridays from 6:15 pm to 7:15 pm
    • U8: Fridays from 6:45 pm to 7:45 pm
    • Location: Culford School, just outside Bury St Edmunds
  • Our coaching staff consists of skilled UEFA licensed coaches who provide consistent, high-quality training on excellent pitches for both practice and matches.

  • We are proud members of the Ipswich and Suffolk Youth Football League and the Suffolk Youth Football League.

  • Special experiences for our members include a day out at Semi Pro Football Club, where they can serve as mascots and enjoy a stadium tour.

  • We arrange visits from ex-professional and current semi-pro football players who engage with our members, answering questions and providing valuable insights.

  • We foster a family-oriented environment as we strongly believe it encourages both individual and team development.

Training Plan

  • Our training sessions follow a structure similar to professional academies, featuring a 3-5 week program that focuses on key coaching points, known as the MatchDay Puma’s Skills Cycle.
  • Players are encouraged to explore and practice new skills, providing an excellent learning format.
  • For players aged U6-10, we emphasise the importance of having the ball at their feet as much as possible.
  • Our sessions are designed to enhance ball manipulation, retaining possession, receiving passes, engaging in 1v1s, 2v2s, and 3v3s activities, and understanding risk and reward scenarios.

Training Plan

  • Training sessions are conducted at Culford Private School, our premier training venue.
  • Players engage in a variety of small-sided games to enhance their skills and teamwork.
  • Our coaching staff includes UEFA Licensed Coaches with extensive experience, providing high-quality training in a safe environment.
  • We emphasise the principles of the England DNA ‘4 corners’ to create well-planned and enjoyable sessions.
  • We take pride in exemplifying leadership and serving as role models for our club members.

  • Performance Pathway’s philosophy is ‘Development’ we encourage players to keep improving
  • We concentrate on players developing as individuals by building confidence and self esteem
  • We coach players in a specific way in order for them to conquer different scenarios on and off the pitch and adapt to many different situations
  • Coaches are highly experienced, enthusiastic and encourage every player. There is good communication between coach to player and player to coach
  • Affiliated to the Suffolk football association

MatchDay Puma's Football Club Welfare Officer

The role involves overseeing the implementation of safeguarding policies, including anti-bullying and equality policies, ensuring that individuals in official roles have up-to-date FA DBS checks.

Communication is key, with a focus on making parents aware of the club’s Welfare Officer and collaborating with the CFA DSO. The commitment extends to attending meetings, actively participating in local welfare officer networks, and advocating for the inclusion of children’s voices. Reporting safeguarding concerns is emphasised, along with promoting FA’s Safeguarding training.

Creating a positive environment involves implementing best practices, participating in relevant programs, conducting informational sessions, and addressing poor practices consistently. Compliance with DBS checks and tracking incidents of poor behavior are essential components of the role.
