The role involves overseeing the implementation of safeguarding policies, including anti-bullying and equality policies, ensuring that individuals in official roles have up-to-date FA DBS checks.
Communication is key, with a focus on making parents aware of the club’s Welfare Officer and collaborating with the CFA DSO. The commitment extends to attending meetings, actively participating in local welfare officer networks, and advocating for the inclusion of children’s voices. Reporting safeguarding concerns is emphasised, along with promoting FA’s Safeguarding training.
Creating a positive environment involves implementing best practices, participating in relevant programs, conducting informational sessions, and addressing poor practices consistently. Compliance with DBS checks and tracking incidents of poor behavior are essential components of the role.
